COMPETITORS PASS
It is compulsory for all competitors on the Troupe weekend to hold a Troupe weekend pass to perform and be able to come in and view. These are $15.00 per dancer and Studios must send a detailed list of each competitor’s name, to be printed on the pass. This pass is only valid for the Troupe weekend.
Every competitor must present this pass to obtain access to the hall.
If the competitor is only competing in solos, duo/trios or Improvs, and would like to watch on the Troupe weekends, they can purchase a ticket at the door.
Communication with the Adjudicator either by competitors, teachers or other interested parties during the Eisteddfod is forbidden.

Rules & Conditions
- Age as at 1st January 2023.
- All entries will be online only, and full payment is required. Once we have reached capacity, entries will close. Regarding Troupe entries, we have a cap this year of 25 Troupe entries per school, we are happy to add extra entries on a waiting list, and once we have closed, you will be contacted if we have any extra places available. This is to make it a fair and competitive competition.
- Please note, it’s best to get your entries in early to avoid disappointment.
- No refunds will be given unless the section is cancelled.
- We have a compulsory $30 registration per competitor for all solo, duo, improv dances (excluding troupe days). This registration covers insurance, competitor entry and allows you to bring as many family and friends through the door to enjoy your child's performance on any given solo day. There will no longer be an entry fee at the door excluding troupe days. Once the e-program has been finalised a link to download the e-program from our website, updates will be via Facebook. It is your responsibility to keep yourself updated. Please note, the Family and Friends pass is capped at $60 per family. If you have 3 or more siblings competing in Solos/Duos/Trios/Quartets, please contact us at: dance@noosadanceeisteddfod.com.au to arrange a refund of your Family and Friends pass for the additional sibling
- We have a compulsory $30 admin fee per school for Troupe days only. This registration covers insurance.
- Once the e-program has been finalised a link to download the e-program from our website, updates will be via Facebook. It is your responsibility to keep yourself updated.

- No repeats.
- Groups must consist of 4 or more competitors.
- Eldest competitor will determine the age of the Troupe & Duo/Trio/Quartet.
- Any protest must be lodged in writing no later than 30 minutes after the end of the section. A charge of $50 must be paid at time of protest. This fee is forfeited if your protest is unsuccessful.
- Sections open and restricted.
- No section will be delayed due to late arrival.
- Music Uploads Management - we will now be using this service for our competition. Itʼs contactless, all online, and will help take out the stress of music issues that arise from time to time. Plus they offer Voice critiques and all in one storage location. As a requirement to enter into the competition you will be required to upload your music via this service," in the given time period" no other options will be given. No CDs ,USBʼs will be needed if you are using this system. Music Uploads offer this service and include features that will handle our music. This Is a low cost paid service, (less than the cost of a USB) and includes a full range of benefits for Studio owners, and event organisers. You will be required to have a valid "music uploads cloud storage" this will allow you, to store your Music, Voice Critiques, and Routine Videos all in one location. Plans are charged at a Minimum of 3 to 12 months starting at less than $1/ month, Plus your music can be transferred to other participating all over Australia without having to re upload your music time.
- No backing vocals for song part for song and dance section. Vocals allowed in dance break.
- No responsibility will be accepted by the Spring Dance Festival for any injuries or losses.
- No props to be left in auditorium. Competitor is responsible for placement and removal on stage.
- There is to be no spectating backstage. Entry to backstage will be directed by the backstage manager and in line with the COVID-19 plan. No mobile phones permitted backstage
- All damage and breakages of school property by students will be passed onto studio for full payment.
- No food or beverages allowed in dressing rooms or hall. An on the spot fine will be given. Bottled water only.
- No changing is permitted in the auditorium toilets or auditorium.
- Dressing rooms must be kept clean and free of rubbish and sanitised at the end of each session. Dressing rooms must be left clean at the end of troupe session. In the event they are left unclean, a cleaning fee will be invoiced to the offending studio.
- NSDF will not be held responsible for any infringement of copyright or royalty by any competitor, schools, parent, guardians or dance teacher. Please make sure all music licenses are update to date and in accordance with the Copyright Amendment Act and APRA Guidelines.
- If a substitute adjudicator is required NSDF reserves the right to do so.
- Supervision of competitors is the sole responsibility of the parents and teachers and they will be held accountable for any infringement throughout the festival.
- NSDF reserves the right to decide on any matters not covered by these rules.
- Should you need to make a change to your Troupe act, where there has not been an administrative error, a charge fee of $20 per change will apply. Change are subject to availability and space and can only occur prior to the final program being released.
- It is the responsibility of the dance teacher to make sure music uploaded 2 weeks prior to competition. We do not send a reminder, and absolutely no music will be accepted on day of competition. NSDF reserves the right to refuse competitor access to compete if music has not been uploaded, there will be no refund.
- Taking photographs by cameras, video cameras or mobile phone cameras of any performance is strictly forbidden. Professional services are provided. Please note that any device with a "screen" is strictly forbidden.
- This Eisteddfod is open to Amateurs only, who have not, and are not receiving income, which has been/is derived from the particular class for which they entered.
- There are no more than 2 groups/troupes per age and genre allowed per school. Adjudicators’ decision is final. the adjudicator has the right to withhold a prize if he/she does not feel a sufficient standard has been reached. The adjudicator must not be approached by any competitor/parent/teacher for any reason or that competitor will be disqualified. The adjudicator may apply a penalty if the time limit is exceeded.
- It is the teacher’s responsibility to check competitor’s in side stage, and to be aware of what section is on and to check for any withdrawals which will amend the time to be ready. NSDF take no responsibility if school/competitor is not ready.
- Student Choreography Troupe section is split into 2 age groups, 12yrs/under and 13yrs/over, any style of dance is permitted.
- Time Limits for Sections are:
- 3 min per Solo
- 2 min per Student Choreograph Solo
- 2 min per 4 Years and Under Solo
- 3 min Song & dance
- 3 min Duo & Trios & Quartets
- 4 min Troupes
- 5 min Musical Theatre/Broadway
If the time limit is exceeded a bell will ring and you will be disqualified. The committee reserves the right to combine, divide or cancel any sections, enforce time limits and decide on any matter not covered by these rules. The committee's decisions will be final.
Sections
Restricted sections are:
- Solos - 8U, 10U, 12/U only.
Open sections;
- Solos – 4U, 6/U, 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16/U & Open
- Duo/Trio/Quartet - 6/U, 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16/U & Open
- Troupes – 5U, 6/U, 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16/U & Open
Safety and Disclaimer
- Every care will be taken for the safety of competitors. However, parents and guardians including teachers are also required to supervise their children when they are not backstage (i.e. in the dressing rooms, auditorium and surrounds)
- Basic first aid facilities is the responsibility for each dance school. Any accidents or injuries must be reported immediately. Due to venue facility differences, ice packs cannot be guaranteed at the event. Each studio must provide their own first aid officer, ice and first aid kit for Troupes. All competitors compete at their own risk. NSDF & all staff associated will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur during our event.
- If the Competition is unable to go ahead as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic or other catastrophic/unforeseen event, our event may be postponed. If this is the case, ALL entries will be moved to the new dates. If the dancer is unable to attend the new dates, a 25% refund will be provided.
- NSDF reserves the right to change competition days or change venues due to unforeseen circumstances.
- NSDF is a COVID SAFE Event, we ensure a compliant Covid Safe Plan. This plan will only be available closer to the event, as the conditions are constantly being updated.

- Troupes $40.00 per Troupe
- Compulsory Competitor Pass {Troupe days only) Fee is $15 per competitor
- Solos $25.00
- Duo $26.00 ($13.00 per competitor)
- Trio $39.00 ($13.00 per competitor)
- Quartet $52.00 ($13.00 per competitor)
- Registration/Admin $30.00 for Solo, Duo/Trio, & Quartet
- Registration/Admin $30.00 for Troupes only
